Great Lodge Essex Indian Wedding Photography | Sophie & Priyan

Thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer at Great Lodge, Essex. I had such an amazing time celebrating your wedding with you guys along with your family and friends. I hope you enjoy this sneak peak from your wedding celebrations at Great Lodge, Essex.

Weddings at Great Lodge, Essex

There are some venues that just feel right the moment you arrive. For me, Great Lodge in Essex is one of those rare places. Tucked away in the countryside, surrounded by a working vineyard, rolling fields, and ancient trees, it’s a venue that instantly slows everything down in the best possible way. It’s peaceful, soulful, and full of character – a dream to photograph.

The Grade 1 Anne of Cleves Barn at Great Lodge is incredible. It’s full of history, with huge beams and high ceilings, but still manages to feel welcoming and intimate. As a photographer, one of the things I really appreciate is the light — soft, directional, and natural. It wraps around people beautifully, especially during ceremonies. There’s enough space for guests to feel comfortable, and for me to move around without interrupting the moment.

In the evening, once the speeches are done and the lights are low, the barn transforms into the perfect party space. It has this warm, glowing atmosphere that makes everyone loosen up — and those dance floor shots? Always full of life.

But what really makes a wedding at Great Lodge special? The people. The staff are kind and down to earth, the layout makes everything flow effortlessly, and the vibe encourages everyone – couples, guests, and even us suppliers — to fully lean into the day.

Natural Wedding Photography at Great Lodge, Essex

All weddings are unique and I want to create beautiful natural images that are especially unique to you. All weddings are amazing, and I absolutely love finding out that a couple wants to book me for theirs. My aim as a photographer is to create a visual story of your wedding day to take you back and remind you of how you felt.

I try to make my approach to every wedding as personal as possible. My approach at all weddings is much like journalism. By trying to document the event without imposing on it, I can capture more authentic moments, without distracting – or annoying – you or your guests. I’m very aware of how uncomfortable a staged moment can feel, and when you’re looking back at your photos years from now I want every moment to feel meaningful and honest. You can click here if you want to read more about my natural wedding documentary approach,  which has been recognised globally with numerous wedding photography awards.

It’s a joy and a privilege doing what I do, and few things give me more pleasure than showing someone the photos from their big day, transporting them straight back into those memories, some of the most precious they will ever have. I want everyone to be blown away by your photos, most of all you. Whether I’m working as an Indian wedding photographer, or on the road shooting destinations around the world, I just want to do your day – and your love – justice.
