Tamil Hindu Wedding Photographer | London
Amazing images! Rahul, you were the best supplier at our wedding, one of the best decisions of our wedding!
So here is part two of Sarrah and Vivek’s wedding celebrations, their Tamil Hindu wedding, and the following day their epic wedding reception at the Jumeirah Carlton in Knightsbridge, London, which I was lucky enough to photograph last summer. You can view part one of Sarrah and Vivek’s wedding on the blog, their Civil Registry and Reception at the Shangri La in The Shard London.
This was the second time I’ve ever photographed a Tamil Hindu wedding ceremony, and I loved every moment of it. I love capturing different cultures, and photographing Sarrah and Vivek’s Tamil wedding was no different, the brilliant colours, the amazing outfits, and the spiritual traditions, all combining to create an auspicious celebration.
My morning started off at Sarrah’s house, where she was getting ready, following a small ceremony, we set off to the temple in Wembley for the wedding. Vivek, arrived with his family and friends, accompanied by dhol players, to the excitement of everyone. Once Vivek took his place under the mandap, it was time for Sarrah to enter, so the Tamil Hindu wedding could commence. The whole ceremony, was brilliantly accompanied by traditional Tamil musicians, who played throughout the ceremony, creating a wonderful ambience. After the ceremony, we headed out to make a few portraits, followed by some group shots, and then the official goodbyes.
The following day was the wedding reception, after getting to know Sarrah and Vivek so well, I knew it was all about the party, and I knew it was going to be epic! Once I arrived at the Jumeirah Carlton in Kinightsbridge, I went in between both Sarrah and Vivek’s rooms where they were getting ready, before heading out into Cadogan Square gardens for some portraits. Once Sarrah and Vivek made their grand entrance into the Jumeirah Carlton ballroom, the rest of the night was full of speeches, food and plenty of crazy dancefloor moves courtesy of Rajeev B from Kudos Music, who kept everyone partying late into the night.
Thank you again Sarrah and Vivek for allowing me to document all your wedding festivities, it was total joy to capture from start to finish. You guys have been awesome and I hope we catch up soon over some whiskey!
Here are my favourite frames from their Tamil Hindu wedding and their reception at Jumeirah Carlton.
