The Banqueting House London Wedding Photography

It was such an honour documenting Saira & Arees’ multi day wedding which ended in style with their epic reception  at The Banqueting House in Whitehall, London. The Banqueting House in Whitehall is a unique wedding venue that is one of the Historic Royal Palaces of England. Banqueting House is the only remaining architecture from the lost Palace of Whitehall, its most famous for its Rubens Ceiling, and hosting dramatic events, feasts and celebrations throughout its history, and it made for the perfect backdrop for Arees & Saira’s wedding reception.

Arees and Saira’s wedding at The Banqueting House in Whitehall was just a joy to capture, an evening filled with a lot of laugh, laughter and plenty of epic moves on the dance floor that continued way in to the night. Thank you so much Saira & Arees for allowing me to document your spectacular wedding reception at The Banqueting House in Whitehall,  it was so great to be a part of your amazing celebrations.

I hope you enjoy some of my favourite images from their Banqueting House wedding in Whitehall.

Why Choose Banqueting House In London

Banqueting House truly is a magical wedding venue where photographer dreams are made of! It is set in iconic surroundings full of character, beauty and charm. One of the best reasons to choose Banqueting House for your special day, is that you’re getting the last remaining piece of the lost Royal Palace of Whitehall exclusively to you and your guests, which gives so much potential for creating beautiful images that you can cherish for a lifetime.

The Banqueting House in Whitehall built in 1622 was designed by revolutionary architect Inigo Jones, and its an important building in the history of English architecture as the first building to be completed in the neo-classical style, which changed the landscape of English architecture, which makes Banqueting House one of the most dazzling wedding venues in London.

An Exquisite Venue For Your Special Day

Banqueting House has two main spaces for your celebrations The Main Hall, used to be the home of masques, balls and entertainment during the Stuart period. It’s a sensational backdrop for your wedding, with its famous Rubens ceiling, striking columns and glittering chandeliers which can seat unto 300 guests for your wedding reception.

Below The Main Hall is The Undercroft, a place once popular as a drinking den for monarchs, has been transformed into a more intimate space that radiates romance which can host ceremonies for up to 150 people. The Undercroft is a versatile blank canvas with stone-paved floors, beautiful ceiling arches where you can let your imagination run wild.

Natural Wedding Photography at Banqueting House London

I want your big day at Banqueting House to just flow, so you and your guests can just enjoy yourselves with the minimum of interruptions. I’m very aware of how uncomfortable a staged moment can feel, and when you’re looking back at your photos years from now I want every moment to feel meaningful, honest and real. I want to transport you back to that very moment and remind you of how you felt.

It’s a pretty big responsibility. Being tasked with making an authentic record of your celebration at Banqueting House – one that will still emotionally resonate and reignite all those precious memories when you look back – can be a bit overwhelming if you let it. But I love that challenge, the fact every one of those moments will only happen fleetingly before it’s gone, that’s what excites me about being a photographer. I’ve spent a long time honing my craft, and picked up more than a few awards on the way. It’s given me the confidence and the curiosity to constantly discover those meaningful differences for every couple that I’m privileged to shoot.

Employing a naturalistic documentary style also means I’m not trying to control anything about your day at Banqueting House. I just let it all happen the way it’s supposed to and keep a close eye on the relationships and encounters that are happening around me. I want everyone’s different experiences to come through. After all, it’s a real melting pot of emotions and a couple may have very different experiences of their day, as they mix with friends and family from their lives, mingling, connecting.

I loved documenting a wedding at Banqueting House in London. My natural documentary style is very discreet – I blend into the surroundings and ensure that your guests barely notice I’m there. I certainly won’t be prodding and posing them like some photographers do. To me, the most beautiful photos are the ones that are natural, genuine moments captured in the instant.
