Dev & Nik // Palazzo Brancaccio – Rome, Italy

Feeling incredibly grateful to have been flown out to Italy to photograph Nik & Devina’s incredible two-and-a-half-day destination wedding in Rome. Their celebrations culminated in an unforgettable wedding and reception at Palazzo Brancaccio, one of the most spectacular luxury wedding venues in Rome and an absolute dream to photograph.

Built in the late 1800s and one of Rome’s last great noble palaces, Palazzo Brancaccio is the kind of wedding venue where you genuinely don’t know where to look first. Incredible frescoes, enormous chandeliers, grand staircases, mirrors, sculptures and beautifully ornate rooms make the whole place feel cinematic before you’ve even added a wedding to it. As a destination wedding photographer in Rome, it gives you so much to work with — beautiful light, layers, architecture and endless opportunities for both natural documentary photography and more editorial wedding portraits.

But as incredible as Palazzo Brancaccio was, this wedding was always going to be about the people. Nik & Devina have the most infectious energy, and you could see exactly where that comes from when surrounded by their family and friends. There was so much love, emotion and energy across the entire two-and-a-half days — culminating in an absolutely incredible wedding reception and dance floor at Palazzo Brancaccio.

It feels pretty special thinking back to our first WhatsApp conversations almost a year ago, hearing about their plans and slowly getting to know them, to suddenly being in Rome watching everything they had imagined come to life. Being trusted to travel to Italy, become part of their celebrations and document these memories over two and a half days was a genuine honour. Nik & Devina, thank you for trusting me with it all. Rome, you were absolutely unreal.
