Wrest Park Wedding Photographer

Wrest Park Wedding Photographer

As your Wrest Park Wedding Photographer i’ve said this many times…..It’s a cliché but it’s true – every couple, every wedding, every marriage is unique. The precise balance way that the history, personality, relationships, love, celebration, style, and everything else that makes your day in Bedfordshire amazing, ensures that every occasion is completely different.

Which is why it’s so important to choose a Wrest Park wedding photographer who is sensitive to those differences. To what makes you you.

I’ve been working as a Wrest Park wedding photographer for years, but in that time I’ve shot photographed all over the UK and the rest of the world. My reportage style is very discreet – I blend into the surroundings and ensure that your guests barely notice I’m there. I certainly won’t be prodding and posing them like some photographers do. To me, the most beautiful photos are the ones that are natural, genuine moments captured in the instant.

Civil Wedding at Wrest Park

Reesha and Baz, chose the stunning Wrest Park country estate for their intimate civil wedding. This was my first time at Wrest Park, and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing it was! Good choice Reesha and Baz, good choice!

Wrest Park is an early 18th Century country estate, with over 92 acres of land, full of stunning lawns, fountains, flower gardens and more! Its picturesque landscape is mixed with historic architecture of a French Chateau, it was the perfect backdrop for Reesha and Baz’s civil wedding.

Last week I blogged Reesha and Baz’s Hindu wedding at Grand Connaught Rooms, which was an awesome day too, so I won’t ramble on too much, so here are some of my favourite images from their civil wedding.

Natural documentary photography

I want your big day in Wrest Park to just flow, so you and your guests can just enjoy yourselves with the minimum of interruptions. I’m very aware of how uncomfortable a staged moment can feel, and when you’re looking back at your photos years from now I want every moment to feel meaningful and honest.

It’s a pretty big responsibility. Being tasked with making an authentic record of your celebration in Wrest Park – one that will still emotionally resonate and reignite all those precious memories when you look back – can be a bit overwhelming if you let it. But I love that challenge, the fact every one of those moments will only happen fleetingly before it’s gone, that’s what excites me about being a photographer. I’ve spent a long time honing my craft, and picked up more than a few awards on the way. It’s given me the confidence and the curiosity to constantly discover those meaningful differences for every couple that I’m privileged to shoot.

Employing a naturalistic documentary style also means I’m not trying to control anything about your day. I just let it all happen the way it’s supposed to and keep a close eye on the relationships and encounters that are happening around me. I want everyone’s different experiences to come through. After all, it’s a real melting pot of emotions and a couple may have very different experiences of their day, as they mix with friends and family from their lives, mingling, connecting.

English Heritage Wrest Park

Wrest Park is a beautiful country estate in the county of Bedfordshire, its a feast for the senses. Wrest Park is a grade 1 listed country house and the formal grounds surrounding the house, Wrest Park gardens is also listed as grade 1.

Spread over 80 acres, the 18th century garden is absolutely beautiful, and perfect for any wedding pictures. The country house is like a French chateau in the middle of rolling English countryside, the grounds with stunning lawns, fountains, statues and ornate follies really are stunning. If you’re looking for historic settings, with elegant French architecture and a picturesque landscape, then Wrest Park really is the perfect backdrop to your special day.

Your guests will love the grounds at Wrest Park, which is divided by a long gravel walk central to the country house, which continues to a Baroque pavilion designed by Thomas Archer in 1711. Wrest Park truly is a rarity, a magnificent house as your backdrops, set in beautifully landscaped gardens with over 3 centuries of design put into it with stunning lawns, woodland walks and flowers. There are loads of hidden gems to discover such as a Chinese Temple, an 18th Century Bowling Green and over 40 statues around the gardens.

In and Around Bedfordshire

If wandering around Wrest Park isn’t enough for you, there’s plenty to do around there too. The De Grey Mausoleum is a chapel, featuring sculptured tombs of monuments from 16th – 19th century, one of the largest chapels attached to any English church.

The Olde Watermill Shopping Village has plenty of antique shops, a family tearoom if you’re feeling hungry plus other specialist shops.

Nestled in Bedfordshire is a 4 acre vineyard to wander around and taste some of their award winning wines too. There’s plenty more to do near Wrest Park such as Whipsnade Zoo, Woburn Safari Park and Dunstable Downs, so if you’re visiting for a few days, there’s plenty to keep you occupied in Bedfordshire.

Documenting Your Day, Your Way

There are lots of ways describe what your big day feels like, but none of them really come close. It’s such a complex, nuanced blend of people and emotions and encounters that every single detail needs to be experienced to really understand it. It’s the same with your photos too. The photographs I take reflect that challenge – they don’t try to order or organise each moment, they just honour it, capturing that feeling as honestly as possible. It’s impossible to say what will will trigger that instinct for me, and show me the exact moment and framing that’s required. It’s become a sixth sense. It could be someone’s posture, an exchange of looks I spot, or giggles that are about to bubble over into belly laughter.

It’s a joy and a privilege doing what I do, and few things give me more pleasure than showing someone the photos from their big day, transporting them straight back into those memories, some of the most precious they will ever have. I want everyone to be blown away by your photos, most of all you. Whether I’m working as a Wrest Park wedding photographer, or on the road shooting destinations around the world, I just want to do your day – and your love – justice.
