2016. My personal favourites from an amazing year!
Just under three weeks till 2017, where did 2016 go! This year has whizzed by at warp speed, its been super busy, crazily hectic, and I’ve loved every moment of it. I’ve been shooting weddings for five years now full time, and for the past three years, i’ve always created an end of year round up blog post. It’s always awesome looking back at the images i’ve taken, reminiscing on amazing times, with amazing people, that have let me into their lives to tell their stories.
Professionally, I have been so fortunate to travel up and down the country documenting weddings, and to places such as Iceland, New York, Singapore, Tuscany, San Fransisco, Dubai, Naples and everywhere in between, doing this crazy job I love so much. I know it sounds super clichéd, but every time I book a destination wedding, I feel so honoured and grateful, it’s a wonderful feeling to go on adventure, discover new cultures, meet new people, try new food (and whiskey), breakdown language barriers and capture someone’s story. I even shot my first Jewish wedding at Soho Farmhouse and Chinese wedding in Singapore, which were both so much fun in their own unique way, I love experiencing new cultures, and I truly hope this continues into 2017 too.
I’ve also won some good awards in 2016, the year started of by being named in Junebug’s Best of the Best 2015 international contest, being Highly Commended for London by The Wedding Industry Awards, and ending the year on an absolute high by being named Top 20 in the world in the recent round of the ISPWP Fall 2016 awards, its always a great feeling to be recognised by your peers, and being pushed year on year to do better for me and my clients.
2016, personally this year, has been nothing short of amazing, sure it has its up’s and down’s, thats called life, but watching my daughter Amelia grow, walk, learn new skills, and develop her own personality, has been incredible, word’s can’t even begin to describe it. I am so grateful for our little family, and so thankful for my wife, supporting me in my job and always encouraging me to push myself.
Right thats enough of me rambling on, I can’t wait to get cracking with next year, its got plenty more adventures lined up personally and professionally already. Thank you to all my clients this year, you’ve all been incredible, and its an honour to call you my new friends, and to the couple’s I have the honour of documenting in 2017, I cannot wait. Roll on 2-0-1-7.
Love, happiness, smiles, tears – here are my favourite 160 something frames from this year.
