Braxted Park Indian Wedding // Sheena & Jay

I was super excited to shoot Sheena and Jay’s Indian wedding earlier this year at the Braxted Park in Essex. I had met Sheena before at Zalicia & Juggal’s Ditton Manor wedding, and it’s always flattering when someone from the same group of friends books you for their wedding too. They are such an amazing group of friends, who always make me feel so welcome, and it was a total delight to photograph another wedding with so many familiar faces attending.

When I arrived at Braxted Park, it was a brilliant surprise to be work with Hindu priest Kamal Pandey and Shiv Gopal Music, we don’t often get to work together but whenever we do its a total pleasure and his ceremonies are always beautifully filled with emotion, Sheena and Jay’s wedding was no different. My day started with Jay getting ready before his jaan arrival with his family, who were ready to be greeted by Sheena’s family and welcomed into the Braxted Park. Once Jay made his way into the mandap, I went to see Sheena’s to capture some final bridal preps and take a few portraits before being escorted into the mandap, to officially start the wedding ceremony.

Sheena and Jay wore the biggest smiles on their faces throughout the day, the happiness around them was infectious. Their Hindu wedding ceremony was full of joy, love, full of tradition, packed full of small moments between Sheena & Jay, everything you want from a wedding celebration. After the ceremony was over we went outside for a few portraits before heading back in for the games followed by an emotional Vidhai.

What an amazing day this was, and the evening was just as good with some hilarious speeches especially by Jay, amazing food and an epic party thanks to Dj Shraii, the perfect end to a perfect day.

Congratulations Sheena and Jay, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wedding day, it was an honour. Now on to some of my favourite images from their Indian wedding and reception at Braxted Park.

About Braxted Park – Essex Wedding Photography

Braxted Park formerly Braxted Lodge is one of the largest walled estates in the county of Essex. In the 1950’s the Queen Anne house was fully restored elegantly by Sir Allen Clark and it sits at the end of the beautiful long sweeping drive of Braxted Park. Braxted Park estate has five generations of the same family living there, and have looked after the whole property immaculately. The Queen Anne house has two large lakes on either side which has a variety of wildlife from rare birds to exotic fish. Braxted Park is a beautiful estate perfect for weddings, it also hosts private events, one of the top partridge shoots in the UK, a farm and also incorporates a 9 hole parkland golf course.

Braxted Park is described as a venue where serenity meets sophistication. Its rich in history, and is the perfect place to celebrate the coming together of hearts and families. The walled garden is the jewel of Braxted Park, there’s surprises around every corner from sculptures dotted around, a fountain and a reflecting pool.

I’ve photographed many weddings at Braxted Park, The Orangery is an amazing setting for an intimate civil ceremony. Its a bright airy room, luxuriously decorated and large enough to celebrate your union amongst your nearest and dearest. The arched windows, painted frescos bring the gorgeous gardens under the roof.

You can also have your wedding outside at Braxted Park too, during the summer months (when there’s no rain ofcourse) its a beautiful backdrop for any wedding ceremony. It’s secluded nooks and surprises around every corner is a real delight, and the perfect setting for your wedding.

Most of the weddings like the one above I have photographed in The Pavilion. Nestled in the walled garden The Pavilion has state of the art facilities, linked directly into the walled garden and it can be yours exclusively for the whole day and night. It’s an empty canvas which you can design to your wildest imagination.
