Aside from the incredible images, it was the fact that he became a really good friend and this put everyone at ease in front of the camera.
My journey for Sachin & Chandni’s wedding began, when I first photographed Sachin’s surprise proposal to Chandni at Hare Krishna Mandir in Watford, and since then i’ve photographed over 10 events for Sachin and Chandni culminating in their Indian wedding at Wembley Hilton, and their big fat crazy reception at MK Don’s arena the day after.
It’s not often I get booked to photograph all the events for an Indian wedding in London, but when I do, its always amazing as you get to know all the family so well, and to be treated like a part of the family is a true honour. When I arrived at Wembley Hilton on Chandni & Sachin’s wedding day, I first started off by photographing Chandni getting ready before Sachin arrived with his entourage. Sachin arrived in a big red bus with all his family and friends, and it didn’t take long for the party to get started once he began his Jaan alongside his family and friends who were dancing all around him to the sounds of an amazing band.
Once Sachin entered the mandap it was time for Chandni’s grand entrance, followed by a super happy ceremony conducted by Kamal Pandey along with Shiv Gopal who set the tone with the music. After the ceremony it was time for an emotional Vidaii before heading to Sachin’s family home for the traditional post ceremony Koda Kodi games.
The following day was their wedding reception at the MK Don’s arena, it was probably one of the biggest receptions i’ve ever photographed with over a 1000 people attending to celebrate Chandni & Sachin’s wedding.
It was such a huge honour to be a part of Sachin and Chandni’s wedding festivities not only at their Indian wedding at the Wembley Hilton, but being a part of all their wedding festivities. Thank you guys for allowing me to document it all for you, it was a true honour!
Here are some of my favourite moments from Chandni & Sachin’s Wembley Hilton Indian wedding…
