It was such an honour to photograph Saira & Arees’ wedding at Dartmouth House in the heart of Mayfair. Dartmouth House is a beautiful Georgian mansion located in London’s Mayfair, just a short walk from Berkeley Square, Bond Street and Green Park. 

Dartmouth House with its stunning interiors, beautiful marble staircase and private courtyard, this elegant mansion was the perfect setting for Arees and Saira’s Civil Wedding ceremony. Documenting Saira and Arees along with their families was so joyful, photographing all the warm embraces, emotions and smiles as a Dartmouth House wedding photographer was a true honour. 

As a wedding photographer in London, we are truly spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful wedding venues, and Dartmouth House is up there with the best of them. Dartmouth House is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and has a range of suites for intimate gatherings and standing receptions for up to 450 people. Dartmouth House was originally built in mid 18th-century but was converted to the beautiful town house you see today in the 19th century. Today Dartmouth House is a heritage building which is a Grade II listed building. Many of the original features are still preserved from the painted ceiling above the Belgian marble staircase, along with the fine ornate high ceilings which oozes opulence and grandeur.

I don’t generally use buzzwords such photojournalism and reportage, and different photographers have a different process of thought on what these words mean to them. For me I’ve found my naturalistic, documentary style of wedding photo’s to be what I love most about capturing everything that happens on your day at Dartmouth House in London. While there is a place for something a little more organised, such as portraits, I prefer to photograph your day without interfering or interrupting at all. This means capturing real moments and genuine emotions along with of course always searching for beautiful light and meaningful compositions. Beautiful wedding venues such as Dartmouth House are a gift, however what matters to me most are the people such as yourself, along with your family and friends, and all the genuine interactions and moments that happen. I truly believe these are the photos that will stand the test of time and you’ll cherish forever.
