We love every single photo of us and our guests – memories which will last a lifetime
Being Sonia & Ajay’s wedding photographer in Muscat, Oman at the beautiful Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah resort was an unforgettable few days of celebrations. Every time I’m asked to photograph a destination wedding, I’m always excited and humbled in equal measures. It’s just crazy to think that out of all the amazing Muscat wedding photographers out there, they’ve chosen me. Sonia & Ajay’s wedding was no different, especially as they were celebrating their wedding in a country i’ve never had the pleasure to visit before.
Destination weddings – just like wedding’s here in the UK – are all about the people, for me. Capturing Sonia & Ajay’s wedding in Oman, you could see the love, respect and friendship they have for each other and how awesome their family and friends were, which made for an incredible few days.
Sonia & Ajay held their wedding in the late afternoon so their ceremony would conclude at sunset. I spent my afternoon before the ceremony between Sonia and Ajay’s separate suites to capture them getting ready. Once Ajay was ready it was time for his Bharaat, where Sonia’s family were waiting underneath the arch to welcome him, to start the official. After a short welcoming ceremony and the Milni’s, it was time for Sonia’s entrance into the mandap. Their Hindu wedding ceremony was full of joy, love, full of tradition, packed full of small moments between Sonia & Ajay, everything you want from a wedding celebration. After the ceremony, we snuck off for a few portraits before Sonia said her goodbyes during the vidhai. The wedding day finished with a sumptuous dinner on the beautiful lawns of the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah resort.
The following day everyone chilled out in the morning, before getting ready for the evening reception. It was a night full of amazing food, wine, amazing moments from the speeches right through to the crazy party. Sonia & Ajay’s reception was pure fun right from the beginning, exactly the way they wanted it to be.
Sonia & Ajay, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to document your wedding. You guys were so relaxed, laid-back, head over heels for one another and you welcomed me and my family into your wedding like your own and I can’t thank you enough for treating me the way you both did. I know i’ve gained two life long friends, I can’t wait to meet up with you guys again, although this time in the colder settings of London. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me be a part of your destination wedding it was a true privilege.
